Laylat al-Qadr: A Poem

A night, a very special night
The night in which occurred the revelation of the Qur’an
A night in this Holy month of Ramadan

A night greater than 83years
A night you can be forgiven of all the sins from the past years
The night in which the Qur’an was revealed before being passed on to our prophet over a period of 23years

This night is the night of majesty
The night of decree
The night we know as Laylatul-Qadr

And what makes you know the meaning of Qadr?
The night that is better than a thousand months
The night that can save you from Allah’s wrath

The angels will descend by the will of your lord
And there’s peace and tranquillity till the appearance of dawn
This I believe is the greatest virtue of Ramadan

This night is just one night
It occurs during the least ten nights
Do perform good acts so you don't let it out of sight

During these last nights, you can decide to give charity
Even as low as twenty or as high as fifty
Just give to gain Allah’s mercy

You can also make sure you pray two raka’at of nawafil
Your evil deed is getting emptied and the good is getting filled
So do good so that your wish is fulfilled

Zakat al-Fitr

Zakat al-Fitr  is a  charity  taken for the  poor  a few days before the end of  fasting  in the  Islamic holy month  of  Ramadan . The  Arabic  word  Fitr  means the same as  iftar , breaking a fast, and it comes from the same  root word  as  Futoo  which means  breakfast . Zakat al Fitr is a smaller amount than  Zakat al-Mal . Sadaqat al-Fitr  is a duty which is  wajib  (required) of every  Muslim , whether male or female, minor or adult as long as they have the means to do so. According to Islamic tradition ( Sunnah ),  Ibn 'Umar  said that the Islamic Prophet  Muhammad  made  Zakat al-Fitr  compulsory on every  slave ,  freeman , male, female, young and old among the Muslims; one  Saa`  of dried dates or one Saa` of barley. The  head of the household  may pay the required amount for the other...

Laylatul Qadr : Chapter 97 : 1 - 5

إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ - 97:1 Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree. وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ - 97:2 And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ - 97:3 The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ - 97:4 The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ - 97:5 Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.

Virtues Of Ramadan: #10

#10: ‘Umrah Performed in Ramadan is Equivalent to Hajj One of th greatest virtues of Ramadan is that, an ‘Umrah performed in Ramadan carries the reward of performing Ḥajj in the company of the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam . According to Imām al-Bukhārī and Muslim in a ḥadīth they authenticated from the narration of Sayyidinā Abdillāh ibn ‘Abbās raḍiya Allāhu ‘anhumā . He said: The Messenger of Allah ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “‘Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj with me.” If the reward for performing ‘Umrah in Ramadan was to be equivalent to performing Ḥajj , that would have been satisfying enough. What, then, when the reward promised, is equivalent to the reward of performing Ḥajj with the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam ?
